Hey, recently for christmas i recieved a yamaha mg10/2. I plugged the adapter into the wall and into the mixer. And i put my guitar cord from my guitar through my amp then through the mixer, then through my computer. The problem is that the LED level meter thing isnt picking anything up. Its not picking up any sound. It might sound like a stupid question, but i am totally lost, and tried everything..

Thanks

That's kinda vague, i'm not sure that path you have there.

from guitar, to amp, that i can figure out.

from amp to mixer, how are you doing this? are you putting a microphone infront of the speaker? are you running from the line out on an amp? are you coming out of the fx send?

basically, what kind of amp, and what exactly are the connections.

The LED level meter, i'm assuming is the master led tree, on the right.

If there's nothing there, then first I'd check the gain, or trim at the top of the channel you're plugging into. Plus, are you plugging the guitar cord into the line input, and not the insert jack. Insert is used for something else.

If you're using a mic, are you using a condensor mic of some sort, they will need phantom power, enables via the phantom button on the right.

I guess if that doesn't work, then start at the beginning, ensuring there's signal at each step: guitar, cord, amp (i'm assuming there's sound coming from the amp) then is there a signal coming out the amp (however you've done it). If there is, then it should show up at the head amp (preamp) of the mixer. Turning up the gain should make the clip light flash, meaning there's signal.

HTH, good luck.

on my yamaha mg 16/6 to pre-amp each channel you have to hit the button PFL on the channel you want to see on the LED lights. when you have not pressed in any of the PFL bottons the led lights are showing how much the master fader is putting out.

you can give hitting that button a shot then trying it.
