I just finished my christmas shopping a couple hours ago ...so I'm not taking it down to the wire like I normally do... :) I'll probably still wander around Meijer after midnight mass...

Yep, it has been a Merry Christmass this evening. Got my dual 19" wide screen flats up and their pretty dang cool looking now that I get things tuned up. Had to twist the screen rez out to 1400 x 900 to make it work right. But I gotta work out the contrast thing for here and in my outlook as I can distinguish between the white and grayish at the moment. Otherwise on the studio box they look splendid with Sonar and the like. All that real estate is grand.

Oh, hell yeah ! Lookin' good there Noize !

I see what you mean by the KRKs kind'a dwarfing them... those things must be monterous .

What is it that you have them 'attached' to ?... Sort of a drum rack lookin' thing ? Cool .

Hee-yaa! that's some real estate. I've been eyein up the 19" Acers at Tigerdirect, but alas, my 2 17" are only 6 months old, so I better not =).

Nice eyecandy as well, there Noize, on the screens (no, not sonar, though that's nice too).

and the porkin' porkin' piggies. That's funny.

Hue, ya the KRK's are huge and heavy as well. The rack is custom built from Ultimate hardware. I just had GC order me a boat load of tube and parts and kinda built a custom desk/rack sorta thing. I'll take a better shot of the whole thing when I get a minute tomorrow. It also holds my controller and use dot hold 2 other analog synths. You can kinda see a USB CD burner sitting on the end of the controller. But it is kinda the same as the drum rack gear. Most parts are interchangable.

I wondered who woudl be the first to notice that pig's. I have a ton of pig's in here since it is my nickname and the studio name I get a lot of them. Tuna bought me that when he was in Mexico with his grandparents a few years ago. And Ray got me a box full of smaller ones. I still have some modifying to do on the monitor mount though as I need to get a couple piece's of gear back up there. That part of the rack used to hold a 20" CRT and my 2 track tape machine as well as a small pre amp and other bits of hardware.

But ya, the KRK's actually are sitting on adjustable tubes with brackets so I can adjust them up and down, swing em back and forward and tilt them as well. It takes for friggin ever to aim them correctly though as I'm anal as hell about perfect symetry with my monitor's.

I'll get a couple more pix up with more of the room later.

Thanx coco. I need to find some mounting arms for the LCD's though so I can get a couple bits of hardware back on the rack in front of me again.

Oh damn Noize, I really like that dual screen setup. I've been asking for awhile as I end up with about 16-20 tracks and 4 busses when I record a full band. I would love to not scroll back and forth.

P.S. Happy new years all!!!

TallChap, I figured you'd be the one to wish that Happy Hogmanay.

coco, I believe I may douse myself with some Old Speckled Hen for new years. The Guiness almost killed me as I poured too many down and got absolutley full, not drunk, just plain full.

Thanx Hujambo, they certainly do know how to party. Although I'm thinking they were not needing the Speckled Hen to do so.

And I have changed my mind. It will be Boddingtons gong down smoothly this new years. And maybe a couple Hens as well.

Noise,

Sounds like a great set up with the dual montiors. Watch the mounting arms with the friction swivel joints. With a 19" monitor of any weight (my experience is with a ViewSonic, had to glue a couple of joints on the arm)those friction joints don't hold the best.

Happy New Years!

PS Thanks for the note a bit back. Glad to be remembered!

Thanx Walt. I am leaning more toward just fabbing my own mounting set up. I think these are fairly light weight but I did notice that some of the manufacturer's did show differant mounting arms depending on the monitor size and weight.

And hey ya. Yer always gonna be remembered when yer out of site for awhile.

And happy new year from here as well.
