emmm, what i would really want is the marching band one, but it's not available yet. I'm going to go listen to the orchestra ones now so I can drool some more...

plus the jazz one costs more originally, so you save more moolah that way.

yeah, i'm listening to these with the ear of trying to tell if it's discernible that these instruments are all coming from software samples...

every once in a while it's a bit fishy, but mostly I think it's just the mix doesn't sound natural, but the instruments sound pretty divine.

sweet! I think mine just shipped, as my CC was charged yesterday.

I was listening to the xmas stuff, and in one song the horns / saxes sounded synthy, but most was not discernable at all.

Now I'm gonna have to produce something, as the missus knows I bought them =).

some of the horns sound a little synthy here and there, and i think the tuba (i think that's what I hear on some of the samples) sounds kinda fake, but the trombone sections, and the trumpet sections and trumpet solos sound fantastic.

Like i said before, i really want to hear the marching band one too. When you get something produced pjk, share it with us, won't you?

Oh yeah, i've been working on a few orchestra type pieces with some old free samples / soundfonts, so i'm geeked to get a real orch to work with.

I'm also thinking that backing pad - type stuff, violins and such, will fair well in more pop type stuff (if i do any).

I'm playing around with finale notepad, getting a feel for staff notation, should that work itself in.

Whee, i feel like a kid at Christmas =)

the whee! fits your avatar!

i did an orchestralish type piece on my album. I had to use instruments from reason as well as some free soundfonts (picking and choosing, you know). I think it came out OK. I think there are more and better string sounds out there than horns, personally. But I might go ahead and get the GPO myself just to have it all in one spot and easy to do instead of all the searching through soundfonts and such. We'll see.
