a lava lamp - 60s-tastic dude!
a new workstation for the 'studio'
a torch with a rape alarm built in (bizarre or what!)
some glittery coloured pens (again, bizarre!)
and a chocolate mobile phone (not as bizarre as you'd think, cos i work in a phone shop)
but best of all - A DAY OFF! WOOHOO (as db'd say)!

did the family thing for a bit and then spent the afernoon doing a small faces cover..lovely!

Cool, you got a Pleco (hope it survived it's time wrapped up) :-) hehehe

Actually, it's sub-species is "Plecostomus" species is "Hypostomus" which, full scientific name is...you guessed it..."Hypostomus Plecostomus", try saying that 10 times fast. Endemic mostly to South America, commonly referred to as "Pleco's". The coolest ones are the Royal Pleco's and Blue Eyed Plecos, years ago I had a 12" Blue Eyed Pleco, it was soooo cool. When my daughters get a year or two older I am going to get another aquarium, I miss mine...I am jealous of you, zek.

At one point I had about 12 tanks of differetn sizes and actually made quite good money breeding African Cichlid's...back when their weren't kids ruling my home that like to bang on things.

I would love to get into fish breeding but it seems to be hard to find pairs of hard to find species :)

Right now I have the pleco, a Dojo Loach, a Clown Loach (no snails anymore YAY!), 5 black tetras, and 1 chinese alge eater.

I used to have 2 fiddler crabs...just so I could say "I have crabs...wanna see?"
a Beta... which was killed by my african butterfly fish...which itself jumped out of a very small hole in the roof of the tank while I was on vacation

I also have some live plants and my tank is very self sustaining...just have to add water to replace what is lost in evaporation...oddly I use the water collected by my dehumidifier in the same room :) I've only changed the water once in 2 years when I moved :)...but I have an emperor filter too...

Sweet, I still have a bunch of big ol' filters from my days in the biz...but no tank...I am working my wife to get a 125 gallon, but I am also working for a 65" TV...so I need to pick...argh...

Clown Loaches are great, but you need to have more than one, I had a school of 7 big ones once (about 3 inches long each) and they travel as a school, it's really cool to watch, they actually don't really like being alone, it's freaks them out.

If you wanna make some money breeding, look into African Cichlids, they breed easily and often, easy to keep they are also very pretty (well, the males anyway) and always in demand. Haplichromis Ahli (Electric Blue) was my best set, I had 1 male and 3 females...it rocked.

The only downside of Africans is their very agressive nature, especially while breeding, that is why you need several females, otherwise right after breeding the female will get the crap kicked out of her if she is the only one in the tank. But they are beautiful, with a big tank, and lots rocks and caves each pair (or trio or quad) can stake out it's own turf and they are great fun to watch defend their turf...I had a 16" knife fish in my tank that was like the bouncer, when any fish started fighting to much the kinfe would just swim between them and break it up, it was cool.

And when Africans get big enuf you can feed them live fish too...that was a Friday night party at my place for a long time. All my friends come over, crack a beer, I dump about 20 goldfish into the tank, they are all eaten in about 10 minutes, then we climb in the car and head to the bar...

I dunno if my duaghter will be able to handle that tho...I may have to re-think my feeding schedule when I get a tank now...
