I recently got an Alesis Multimix 16 Firewire and the Cubase LE software that comes with it is too limited (only 4 simultaneous recording channels..). I need the 8 simultaneous inputs.. I am looking at Cubase SX or Logic 7. I believe ProTools has proprietary hardware needs and does not work with the Multimix firewire unit. Is Logic compatible with the multimix? Any comparisons for Cubase SX vs. Logic? Any other software suggestions? Thanks a bunch.

Nov 28, 2006 01:14 pm I'm guessing you're on a mac, since you referenced logic.
I'm not Mac, so can't really help. Other's might.

Nov 28, 2006 11:08 pm Well in all honestly Logic is not an easy program to learn. And it is also one of the worst user interface's on the market. Looks pretty, but is worthless to try and navigate. Cubase SX on the other hand is right up there with Sonar, almost anyway. But for Mac those are your choices, and in all honesty I would recommend Cubase over Logic any time.

Nov 29, 2006 04:04 am I use Cubase SX, and have used a version of cubase pretty much since I got into this mess. I've used sonar as well, and a watered down version of logic back when it was still on pc. Out of them all I prefer cubase sx. It gets my vote.
