Help on Sonar 4 Producer

Hi, I'm new in this Forum, and I have a problem. I use a M-Audio Delta 1010LT and SOnar 4 Producer edition. I can record stuff normally, but I can only hear the track I record after i finish recording it, do you understand? I want to listen to the sound of the instrument (in this case, elec guitar or bass) at the same time I'm recording. Is this a config/options/setup problem or I need to get extra speakers or something? Please help, sorry for my english and my inexperience.

Welcome to HRC Victor.

First off I'll ask the obvious question. How are you set up to moniter, headphones, speakers?

Also, are you running through a mixer? If so, just gong to the 1010 inputs or are you running out from Sonar through the 1010 to a mixer as well?

This will help try and figure your situation out.

should be a feature in your driver called "direct monitoring"....check the 1010's software.....also there's an "input echo" on the channel strip of sonar, it looks like a few of these )))

Well, my 1010LT's outputs number 1 and 2 are connected to a regular home sound system. I have no mixer.

Direct monitoring is exactly what I want, but I didn't find any option like that in the 1010LT's software.

Oh, and the input echo works, but it's too delayed to work with...

OK, the next question that I should have asked along with the other is your PC spec's? Input echo should work a charm with Sonar, I use it at times with no latency at all.

One thing to look at in the Delta control panel is the pathcbay router options. The H/W Out options should have the Wav/Out buttons selected for use with direct mixing in Sonar.

he4y man i had the same problem,
ya im not exactly how i fixed it, but, basically your sound card and ur device are probably clashing, just fiddle with those 2 things, it worked for me eventualy,
o and i almost forgot
i was wrking out of options and then audio
i fiddled with that for a while, and when it opens it askes me to turn of stuff or use neways
i always click use neways
i dont know exactly how to do it, but it somehow started to work ;) and quite well, so ya just fiddle with those things, eventually ull get it, i hope ;)

Hydrial, please try not to type your reply in chat speak. Not all people here are good at reading that.

Victor, your PC is plenty fast and should not be any cause of the problem. As I stated above have a look at the Delta control panel and make sure the set up is as I stated above and you should be OK to go.
