I know i haven't been around for a while but did anything ever eventuate with this?

Someone did a cover and everything.

I was always looking forward to that!

Not that I know of, I didn't have time for it, somebody was going to take it on and never did...I think it died a slow death.

I think I have several of the songs that were going to be on it. I believe I even have a copy of the sample cover that was going to be done.

I should pop in the drive I think its on and look. I might actually have time to pilot it in about 3 or 4 weeks. I think it would still be a viable project myslef.

Rigsby, and Tripps!

I'm gonna drop the drive in tonight that I think I have some of the files on.

Rigsby, I know I have the one you did now that you mention it. I dont remember how I got involved but I know nothing ever really boiled up from it. But after seeing Bleaks post it has sparked the interest in me to follow this one out in a few weeks.

I'll post back in this thread when I get the drive in later tonight and see what is on it.

Tripps, sorry to not answeryour question. It was going to be something to support like the Save the Music foundation or a cause similar.

There were I believe several colabs in there, one of which was Hanger 19. And Bleak as well had a tune in there which he wrote shortly after the birth of a child.

Man its all coming back into my head quickly now. Maybe I'm not so old and forgetfull after all.

I'll be posting a bit later with what I have.

Noize i think you were going to help master it or something.

Does DB keep threads from that long ago?

It'll all be on record somewhere. I'll troll through tonight and see where we left it.

Cool, I've been so busy lately.

I have the new baby, quit my old band and joined another that suits my musical tastes. Therefore I'm learning all new material while trying to be a good dad at the same time.

Other than that, I really enjoy some of the tunes I've heard on here. I would love to colaborate or even contribute a song.

I play drums, bass and guitar and can sing a bit too. If needed, I will answer the call!!!

I have the files Bleak, I found them last night but it was late. I will post what I have later tonight.

CS is gonna loose it when I bring up his old tune he recorded when he was still pretty young yet.

I just listened to my contribution for the "Save the Music" project for the first time since we were putting it together (When was that?)

I still like my song, but the recording sucks! I hope that's an indication that my skills have improved and that my mixes sound better now.

Just listened to "Hangar 19" again...that piece rocks!

OK, here is a partial track listing. I think I have two more in another folder I have not uncovered as of yet.

???? Joint Rezonate
Need the author of this one.

Bleak Little One

coco Let it go
The original version with him singing.

Colonel Sanders Control

Guitar Jim and the Cutaways On and On it goes

??????? Hanger 19
The colab, need to know who all was on it.

Leduex Machina Voyeur

Rigsby Smith Little Rug

Thermocaster Apology

Topman Holding On

I thought OldDog was going to drop Are you gonna be around on it as well. For some reason I have tracks from him in the main folder with the other stuff.

I know there was at least one or two more as well. I just need to sort through the rest of this drive and a couple others that might have it on them.

And I'll find the .jpg of the cover samples I have as well.

Thank goodness I never toss anything into the trash.

Oh man, how sweet things are getting.

I found the original unmixed tracks for Hanger 19 as well. It looks like these are some of the colaboraters on it. Guitar Jim, Olddog, Murphy, Tadpui, Wyd, Bleak, Hue, Coco, Rigsby, Jason.

I'm not sure on WYD though as I dont remember if he was a member back then.

Bleak, I think you were the original starter of this one. I think I may be missing a couple of the guitar parts for it.

I also found the tracks for Joint Rez as well.

And low and behold I also found what I think are most of the original tracks for the My Generation colab as well.

Yep I was contributing "Are You Gonna Be Around", it was my best at the time, but like Jim, I sure don't care much for the recording of it any more hopefully that means I've improved along the way as well. :) I think I was also supposed to send you my son's song that I played on if room permitted.

OD, that is one of the files I was missing then. I had a note in the maek shift track list for it, but could not find the file. That answers that.

WYD, ya I dont know why I didn't just look at the creation date of the files to see that it was 2005.

I'll get my stuff together and let you guys know what I need from ya.

OD, indeed if I remember correctly that was a killer track, I sure do want it on there.

coolo, I will check and send you the list of the files I have. Then you can supply the missing ones. I think I will need the bass file from WYD and a few others. Unless I find them in a stray folder. But I have searched most of them.

Noize, I have what I think is a pretty darn good mix and premaster of Joint Rezonate on file if you want me to send it to you. Of couse if you want to mix it, I'll send over the various parts to you as well. As for the composing, if I remember right, it was me on the drum sequencing, El Musico on the e bow or something like that (really cool sound whatever it was), Mike Grisafi did the lead guitar, and I think it was Jason H who did a little keyboard strings action that you can barely hear, but it fills in the sonic frequencies and gives it a fuller sound. I think that's it.

Wait, reading your post again, did WYD do a bass line for that one... I'll have to go check again...

NA, if you have a mix done I'll use that one. I have one but I'm not sure if it actually the finished mix.

Yes thats it. Mike G is the one I didn't have listed as a contributer to that one. And yes, WYD did a fretless bass thing somewhere in there. I have the time list as to what went were in the mix, but as I stated, not sure if I have a complete finished mix.

Hmmm, the mix I have I don't think has a bass line on it (not from WYD, not from nobody). I'll triple check again tonight, but I don't think so.

I want to mess with the mix a bit, the clap is a little buried for my (updated) taste, I'm going to add a little compression and boost a little, but everything else sounds butter.

Its a fretless so its pretty subtle probably. If it is there. I'll have to listen again in a little bit to see if I can hear one in the mix I have. I'll email ya the times I have for who's solo and stuff is were in the mix.

Noize, I triple checked this weekend. I don't have any bass files for Joint Rezonate. The mix is sans fretless bass (I checked the multitrack file). It's not there. I can get you the premaster of what I have this week though.

Also, if you need more music for the cd, I have a couple solo pieces you could choose from as well. Let me know, and I'll send 'em to you.

OK, then Joint Rezonate is good as is. coolo, I had some issues here and didn't have time yet to listen to it. But if you want to rework it let me know. If I can toss down a bass part or whatever let me know as well.

Bleak, not to worry, I have the track list I think as well as most of the files.

And there was a final mix of it if I'm not mistaken. And I have that I believe.

I may have been mixing the REz and Hanger 19 up coolo. So we'll take WYD's word for it.

yeah, there was a bassy string part that I'm not sure if it was sequenced or played on a keyboard. I want to make just a very subtle tweak to the mix, and then I'll get it over to you Noize. Let me know if you prefer a pre master, or if you just want the mixdown. If you want to put a bass part on there Noize, feel free, but it is pretty full already. But if you want, we can make it work, it's up to you.

Ahh, guys - I remember this. It was a top class idea for sure.

Indeed, I recall the cover - was it not made up of bits from everyone's studio?

Bleako - my man, sorry I missed ya when ye were over, our paths were destined not to cross am afraid!! Still, next time for defo.

I also recall that Hanger19 - listened to it the other day tehre, did you not do a cool piano solo Bleak? Twas good and did Rigs not do a glock part ?? All cool man.

Anyways, Im still up for this idea. Use any song you like of mine - no worries there. Indeed, its worthwhile for sure.

Good to drop in, catch ye all as I've been mighty busy of late and no real time to just catch up!

Take it easy one an all...

Coco.

coco, I believe I have one with you singing I would like to use. If I'm not mistaken it was something you actually re-tracked for the purpose of going on here. Let it Go, the original version. It was recorded really hot with just you singing, the drum machine and the guitar. It is my personal favorite as your vocal on it is simply ripping. Only a momentary stray on the vocal but otherwise it is just heavy as hell.

While I was writing this it came to me that we could actually do something very cool with that tune. You dont think you still have the original tracks to that one do you????? I'll email ya and tell ya what I'm thinking. I wanna keep it a suprise if we can make it work.

coolo, I think it is fine as is. I didn't get a full on listen but I will tonight.
