I just bought a toneport today. I cant figure out how to record my td6 drum set. When I plug it into the toneport the snare cuts out and just sounds horrible. Also, can anyone recomend which of the presets sounds good for drums or explain to me how to make a user setting that will work? Thanks.

Oct 20, 2006 07:51 pm You probaly want to either use no amp model or one of the pre amp models. Take your settings down to a fairly mild input gain if any at all. And output gain will want to be set fairly low as well.
Which inputs are you running the TD-6 into if I might ask?

Oct 20, 2006 08:44 pm Ah thats the problem. You need to run the stereo output of the TD-6 into the line inputs of the UX-1. Using the guitar input will not work as it is expecting a high impedance load, not line level.
So switch the TD-6 to running the stereo line outs to the line inputs of the UX-1 and it should all be good.
Oct 20, 2006 08:49 pm Cool, you are talking about the line ins on the back of the unit, right? How do I select those lines so that the computer is receiving both of them?
Oct 20, 2006 08:50 pm Also, I have the UX2 just in case there might be a difference that i dont know about.

Oct 20, 2006 09:10 pm OK, sweet that will still be the same on the back. Line inputs left and right. Then on the interface panel of the software part you simply assign it to record the line inputs instead of the mic or guitar inputs.
I am re-installing my UX-2 tonight since a system problem forced the need for a new OS install which means I lost everything. So I cant look at the moment but the Gearbox panel should let you select the inputs you wish to record from. I'll double check once mine is back up and running but that is how I set mine up.
Oct 20, 2006 09:18 pm Great, I will give it a try! The included multitrack software only allows 4 tracks. Is there a cheap/free multiracking software available anywhere. I dont need a lot of fancy extras, I just need more than 4 tracks.

Oct 21, 2006 12:40 pm For a really inexpensive multitrack software app it's hard to beat Cakewalks Music Creator 3, last time I checked it was a $24.95 download and has midi support, FX VST's etc. It's main limitation is it's limited to 2 simultaneous inputs while recording.
