Two other things I recorded

Normally I don't do much songwriting, but I gave it a shot.

I also recorded this, an instrumental, somewhat minimalist.

Whoops, didn't realize that NowhereRadio wouldn't let me direct link, here's a link to the intended song, two others that happen to be up there, too.

Hey there, welcome to HRC.

I had a listen this morning to your stuff, here are a couple comments.

Yes-And, nice simple little melody. At 4 minutes I would possibly try to add a little more change to it so it doesn't seem as repetative. Otherwise the arranging is nicely done. In the begginging the guitar tuning could use a little help, otherwise it isnt as noticable the rest of the way down. I noticed the sginal was a little weak, possibly boost it with a maximizer or compresion for the final product.

An End, guitar sounds tuned much better here. Are you going for an old school un-mastered type sound. If not you could definately use a little EQ and reverb to help settle the vocal and guitar together on this one. There seems to be a good deal of static present that pops and clicks throughout the tune.

Couldn't get tolling bells to play.

Set Phasing is heavily distorted on the guitar part and eventually falls into a complete buzzing mass. I am wondering if you have overdriven the output when mixxing down.

Some of the oddness and imperfections in the sound is intended, however I didn't even think about reverb in terms of affecting the vocals, I'll give that a try. On Set Phasing to Disintigrate, I was trying to get alot of the buzzing type sound in there on purpose, I got it mostly by adjusting my guitar's onboard equalizer and mixing in some feedback. Thanks for the feedback, I'll definitely keep it in mind for anything further I write, and probably mess around with applying it to some of the stuff I already have. If anyone else has any suggestions or idea, feel free to let me know.

Also, I messed around with An End. Mainly, I took the guitar/vocal track, ran a high pass filter on it to make it less overtly bassy, then overdubbed that over the original track after taking the gain down on the original track. I just uploaded it to the same place as the first, so the initial link takes you to the new version. Any other suggestions?

An end- i like it. simple is my middle name. 3 chords and the truth, thats all you need. the pops and clicks take away from the recording- not sure how it was recorded, but taking the time to weed out those little things increase the product alot.

keep it up, and welcome to hrc!
