Hey guys,
just a quick question...
If I had 2 passive speakers both 250 Watts and 8 ohms
what kind of amp would I need to power these?
Am I right in thinking I can go Mic-->Mixer -> Amp> Speakers ??
for live sound?

Sep 15, 2006 11:06 am Yep, you could go with anything from 400 to 500 watts on the amp. That would give you 200 or 250 per channel.
One thing I suggest that will help to get it sounding right in a room is an EQ. A 15 band or bigger stereo graphic Eq will do the job nicely. The more bands the easier it is to tune the PA to any room, and help eliminate feedback.
So your signal would then go Mic>Mixer>EQ>Amp>Speakers.
Sep 15, 2006 11:33 am well I went out today and started looking for an amp
this is for an installation not for gigs but for our own rehearsal space... band HQ you might say
we're moving in October 1st and we have everything except for the amp...
the Store Manager recommended this Amp:
www.musiciansbuy.com/Phon...MAX1500KIT.html
the one review of it at Harmony Central is positive
so I'm looking into that one... it's seems it's more than capable of delivering what I need
and I was in the store today... and my Eye landed on a wireless mic (something I've wanted for more than 2 years now...) I just hate being limited by the cord... so I bought it
this one to be exact:
www.homerecordingconnecti...odel+ATW1452%29
And loving it
thx guys!
