Dropout/distortion problems in Sonar PE4

I recently went into edit some drum tracks on a project in Sonar Producer Edition 4, and before editing, pressed play to verify everything was in order. For some reason the project is now distorted, clipping, hissing, and drops out after about 10-15 seconds. I didn't change anything, and there really aren't a whole lot of tracks or effects in the project. Anyone know what might have caused this?

Did you switch audio devices or drivers in Windows? Make sure that you're playing back via your preferred sound device and not your stock sound card. You can find these settings in Windows under Control Panel->Sounds and Audio Devices->"Audio" Tab->Sound Playback.

Also make sure that your device settings in Sonar are as you expect.
