STOP Tape in -> sub outs ?? on UB1622FX

Gday,

I'm using a Behringer UB1622fx mixer. (i've noticed a few of you are using the same mixer, so hopefully you'll know more about it than me)

The Stereo output from my soundcard is going to the "tape in" on my mixer.

The 2 Channel subgroup is going to the stereo input of my soundcard for recording.

Is there a way of NOT routing the "tape in" to the "sub out", so i can hear the "tape in" via ctrlroom/phones, but only record whatever channels i have selected with the "sub" switches ?

Or should i just run the soundcard output to it's own stereo channel on the mixer instead of the "tape in"?? (i'm trying to avoid this, if possible, due to lack of free channels)

BTW this forum is an awesome knowledge base. Congrats to everyone who contributes.

J

I use the same mixer, personally I don't use the tape ins and outs, I run the sound card into input channels, one of the stereo links channel pairs.
