yeah, since the directory is all i have up now cause I haven't had time to do any coding. Only stuff in it is those three songs so it's okey for now.

OK, it just frightens me to have a directory out in the open like that.

yeah I can see that. I just set this up since my computer doesn't like myspace, and the MP3s play properly that way but not through here. It was easier to do that than to read the cubase manual lmao

Dream of Destiny is pretty cool. Again very trippy sounding stuff. Kind of trance like in its repetativeness. The extreme verb on the vocals works with the trippy feel of the tune. My only suggestion here would be to try and fill in with some bottom end content. Like a bass synth line or something to fill that tonal range as it is a bit empty in the bottom end. And at 5 minutes plus you might want to add some changing intrumentation in there. Like a few lead lines hear and there.

Rainy Days, the AM radio treatment to the vocal is kind of interesting. Reminds me a little bit of some of Collapse very early stuff in a way, with a bit more ballady touch.

The Wise Old Man. I would cut that static sound back a bit when the vocals are gong on. It makes for a great intro but is a bit distracting during the vocal parts. The instruments were nicely placed and sounded really good in this mix. They all worked well together.

Very dark sounding really on these.

Thanks for the feedback. The wise old man is definatly my favourite of the three, but I'll keep what you said about the static and see how i like it without it in there. Dream of destiny is really just a rough idea, and yeah it is a bit too long at 5 minutes + and very repetive, so I'm gonna be working on that a bit.

The static on the wise old man was done by running the bass through my sampler and tweaking the hell out of it, so I'll try recording the bass without it. Actually, the chorus type guitar sound was also done that way.

No, dont get rid of it entirely!!!!!
Only bring it back during the vocal parts.

More to come later.

I'm trying to think of a way to pull it back without pulling the bass back, because that's actually the base track making that static. Think the only will will be to record the bass over clean, and then record the bass over with the static... may have too much low end this way though. We'll see.

Can you automate the static part coming in and out when it is needed? That would be a cool bit to have it kind of come and go as the vocal parts come and go as well.

No automation, but I could try ducking it with the compressor. hmm. playtime

Dream of Destiny is cool, but it got a little bit repetitive after a while. I think it would be cool, if you added another layer of drums in after a little bit. The vocals might be a little too reverby for my taste, but I like the guitar riff.

I think Rainy Days is my favorite of the 3. It's sparse, but good. I like it.

I like the guitar tone on Wise Old Man a lot. Yeah, I agree with Noize that the static thing is a bit distracting throughout the whole song.

The treatment you give to your vocals on all the songs is interesting, but I don't know if it adds to the songs or subtracts from it.

I really think I like rainy days better as an instrumental... I dunno.

Can't figure out how to duck with my compressor, but when I get back in town monday I'm gonna mess with it, as well as dream of destiny. That one needs the most work I think.
