Adding on for more mic inputs?

I have a yamaha MW12 usb mixer that only has 8 xlr inputs. Looking at buying a 20 channel board that will have all the inputs I need. Could I take an output from the big board and go into the smaller board which in turn goes to the computer? This way i can still use the MW12 by itself for small projects and use the big board double duty-a good live sound board, an add on board for recording. Will this work? Thanks -Adam

yo, welcome to HRC. I don't see why this wouldn't work, it's basicly submixing... Maybe someoen can say why it won't, but it seems like you should be good to go with that setup.

It will work just fine that way. I used a smaller mixer along side my 24 channel desk for years as I needed the extra inputs for my 8 channel sampler. It worked just fine. There are many places that still slave a smaller mixer to a larger one for extra input channels when needed.
