New Forums...Maybe?

I am considering adding a new forum or two to further divide topics. I dunno if I will, but if I choose to, are there any suggestions for topics?

pc/software recording (software questions ,sound card issues)
analog recording/recording equipment (reel to reel, mixers, external effects, mics)

kinda-one for everything before the pc and one for after you plug into the pc

i just read this and its not good-oh well i typed it you have to read it now

ya, actually I thought about an analog and a digital board, but there are two probs, one the analog board would be very small and two, many times they mix...

I am thinking of adding a "Gear Talk" board for reviews, thoughts, opinions and such about gear...cuz a lot of the other forum is "whaddya think of this mic" and "what sound card should I get"

ya thats better. gear forum, recording forum. you could also ask everyone what software they know well, and have them do a review on it. (listing thier hardware too) ya know what it does how much it was, ease of install, stability ease of use. you can bet thats one of the biggest questions for the newbies thats really hard to answer. call it a software review area or something.

once again, thats not too good, but i typed it soo......... you read it
im gonna get some coffee

Actually, that is a pretty decent idea, the hard part is to get people to write the reviews. Most of us just don't have the time for that, myself included. I am still trying to get Part II of the basic studio setup article done.

ive got the office to myself this week, ill write one-but i fear as though it wont be that helpful. let me know if you want one, tell me where to send it. ill bring the book in for minium requirements and such. i think they should be more than a review and less than a "how-to" article. and i think everyone would do it, just cause they wanna help everyone else

Well, a little of both is good, this is kind of a "how-to" website...and "do I want one"...ummmm, yes...new content is always good. If I recall correctly you use Magix Studio, which is a starter app that not many of us use, but for the price and target market it would be some great info to have for people to get started with and not have to break the bank to do it.

As far as what to do with it, just hang on to it, let me know when you are done and I will give you contributor status which will allow you to submit the article for approval yourself.

i like the idea of just having a place to ramble on about some hardware or software, kinda like the soapbox, only with the option of others to come in and comment.

When this site first got re-launched in this format I actually had to yell at Noize for being listed on EVERY FRICKIN THREAD! wWe had a good chuckle about that a few days ago.

LMAO! ::takes a breath:: hey dB, if you really want to break up the forums, i agree it would be cool to leave "talkin smack" for the idle ramblin and maybe split the recording section up like you said. I'll start thinking of some ideas if ou dont mind. -j

oh i guess it's oldschool AOLspeak. ive been online since AOL v2 and we used say things like LMAO "Laughing My Butt Off" and ROTFL "Rolling On The Floor Laughing" stuff like that. well some of it, like LOL, BRB, IMHO, and AFK have survived, but many have dwindled out died a painful acronym death. and no, i'm not still dialing out to that "service". -j
