Do you have a mixer right now? For under $100 I think I'd just use the mixers preamps if you have one...

i don't think there is a 'best' pre for any mic....different pre's sound different, and have different features....first off, i'd decide what features in a pre do you need....phantom power is a must, i consider a low freq. rolloff a must, and also polarity reversal, also what about connectors? i LOVE the nutrik (sp?) xlr/trs combo for inputs, do ya need xlr outs or ts? beyond that you've got eq, compression ect. in the 'channelstrip' type pres.....check out presonus, other berry (nger) stuff, ART makes some good budget pre's,

Hey thanks for the quick responses. Im using it for rap music. I want something real easy. I have the mic cable that goes in.... and then the output goes directly to my soundcard. Yes I also want the mixer and the amp to all be in 1 unit... like the one I had before.

Any suggestiosn based off that?
or do you need any other info?
