i'm gonna be composing, mixing, (and probably mastering, but i'm not sure yet) three 2 and a half minute songs for a local adult coed cheerleading (tumbling) team...my good friend is an instructor, and instead of makin' a compolation cd of various pop type songs, they're gonna go with original music....
this will be fun because, he's gonna work with me and we're gonna write the music around the dance instead of vice versa....at the end, i'll have a video of cheerleaders dancin' to my music!
so i'm renting "Bring It On" to get a feel for the style and what's expected....my biggest worry is how it will sound through a PA in a gym...which is why i might get it mastered professionally (mastering is really cheap here in nashville).

Jun 08, 2006 12:41 pm My biggest worry would be having to sit through Bring It On :)
But that'll be a interesting project for sure. Hope it goes well!
Actually it'd be much more interesting if you based it off of something like Breakin 2: Electric Boogaloo :D
Jun 08, 2006 12:44 pm Dude, that will be a cool gig, good experience...and lots of tight cheerleader bodies around...can't beat it...well, unless...oh, never mind...
Jun 08, 2006 12:51 pm HA! yeah, i was watchin' 'em reherse last week, and these ppl are nuts! throwin' eachother around like that....but yeah, it's payin' pretty good, and i have until late october to finish it, so i'm workin' on it in my spare time 'when i'm in the mood'...cuz das when i do my best work....i'll try to post a vid, or atleast the music when that time comes.
Jun 08, 2006 12:52 pm Yeah, don't underestimate a guy cheerleader...those guys are strong as hell and in VERY good shape, cheerleading may look silly to someone who isn't, but damn, there is some serious athleticism behind it...besides they spend lots of time looking up girls skirts...whether they like that sort of thing is another matter...ROFL.

Jun 08, 2006 09:02 pm Man that is gonna be a sweet gig WYD. Adult cheerleaders though, sound very interesting.
Tad, I loved that movie. It did have some great music for that genre.
Now for the funny part here. As I scrolled down to post my reply I noticed in the Ads by Google banner at the bottom of the thread one of the retailer links was for Cheerleading Uniforms.
Needless to say I started laughing out loud.
But for sure you gotta get us a video of that.
Jun 08, 2006 10:38 pm idk, its weird Noize. I have seen those ads match exactly with the subject matter on more than one occasion. In my keystation Pro 88 thread, there was an add for that same model under the thread after I posted it lol. doo-do-doo-do-doo-do-doo-do.
Jun 09, 2006 10:48 am actually there is an ad in the al-Zarqawi thread about al-Zarqawi's death. So I think the ads do pick up on the thread topic somehow. Is this old news?

Jun 09, 2006 06:09 pm Not to me, its the first time I ever noticed the coralation.
Jun 10, 2006 01:06 pm Google ads are targeted to keywords on the page - that's what the advertiser is paying for. A good thing for all, really - I'd rather see ads here for music gear than Barbies, or something.
