The best computer for recording

My boy told me the best computers for music are macintoshes, but i have a hp without a choice i have to use it until i get a job but then i plan on gettin a macintosh. What do u think is the best computer for recording?

May 26, 2006 08:08 pm This is just one of those questions that has no answer. They both work fine. Macs tend to be a bit more stable, but PCs are much more flexible as far as options for hardware and software.
Use whichever one you're more comfortable with.

May 27, 2006 01:24 am Dude, if you have an HP and it works fine don't get a mac just because you're told to. There's no 'best' in these things, it's personal preference, it's like asking 'what's the best plastic cup to drink my coffee out of?'

May 27, 2006 03:40 pm I will only state as Tadpui did above that the PC has 10 times more hadware and software available to it. As well there are many more third party software makers that have PC ported software then there are for the Mac. And Mac software and hardware tends to be much more expensive. It that kind of elitest thing really.
May 27, 2006 03:51 pm mellow, also be aware that macintosh users are also almost a cultish bunch that will defend and promote their prefence to almost nauseating levels...I guess the first thing to ask is who is your boy and who is he to tell you anything? Is your boy a huge record mogul or just a musician with an opinion, like most people...

May 28, 2006 02:08 pm I doubt you'd get thrown out of any Mac cliche I know of. SEveral of them run Mac's only for graphics and PC for audio.
So you're a good Mac guy in my book.
