more Wav file properties?

I've noticed some wav files I download from the internet have info embedded in them, something like an mp3 ID3 tag i guess. Windows Media Player displays this info when i playback a file. There'e four fields, "clip, author, copyright, and rating". My question is, does anyone know how to edit these properties?? I'd like to add copyright info etc to a sample project im working on. So far all i've learned is that FruityLoops stamps the source file's filename in the "clip" field. Anyone know what I'm talking about?? This seems to be the thing my wav editor DOESN'T do to wavs LOL! thanks in advance. :O) -j

Yes, it's all part of the next step of copyright protection in audio...haven't heard much about them other than they exist...

I've seen the same thing myself but I haven't the slightest clue how to do it...

If you download a copy of WinAmp, they have an ID3 tag editer section. You can go in and correct tittle's and everything. It will let you edit every facet of the MP3's info and most other format's as well.

yes, but that is not saying it will edit wav watermarks, they may not be the same as mp3 watermarks...

has anyone edited wav file watermarks with WinAmp?

I've been doing a little research. Well just a searching the heck out of google. I think I've discovered that Cool Edit Pro 2 (and maybe some other versions?) might be able to edit wav file text field properties. Anyone using Cool Edit? I'd love to know if this program can do it. I'm sure I remember someone on here talking about CEP2. thanks :O) -j

wavelab 4 allows for tag editing of pretty much all types. ive been doing my mp3s through it for a long time now and i just tried with a .wav and it seemed to work as well. i suspect sound forge has this ability as well.

you mean the "WAVE Properties Extension" dll? that's cool, it adds another tab in the properties window where you can add text, but it still doesn't let me edit the common text fields like copyright and author etc. im still looking for a program that edits that info -j
