help *probably a dumb Question*

I just got some new samson drum mics and the 2 overheads and mini pencil mics wont fit on regular mic stands. They are advertised as having "Gold-plated XLR connectors for long-lasting service" but all it seems to be doing is making the end too small to screw on to mic stands. Should I try to take the gold thing out? If so how its in there really good. Or am i just dumb and missing something obvious?
These are the mics: www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/8DrumMicKit/

Thanks

And I see what everyone ment by the clips possibly breaking

those aren't the XLR connectors they're (insert name here :). The XLR connectors are on the rear of the mic, where you plug the cable in.

Take em' out. I usually use a NZ 10 cent coin or a flat head screw driver.

yeah you should be able to unscrew the adaptor thats inside the clip....(i'm assuming you cannot screw the clip onto the stand)....or i think it shoulda came with a screw-like thing that changes the diameter of the clip at the point of contact with the stand.

hope that helps
