Mar 03, 2006 05:30 pm Your best bet is to find a good all purpose set, and you really have to let your own ears be the judge.
Mar 03, 2006 08:51 pm I just looked at Guitar center today and the KRK V8's are amazing and pump some nice clean bass. $1000 bucks for a pair though. I am looking at a Yamaha set for $700 which sounds really great. I think its hard to go wrong with studio monitors. It is pretty easy to tell the difference between good and crap and there are some pretty well established brands.

In the end you will still need to train your ears for the room they will be in as well.
Mar 05, 2006 10:06 pm I just picked up a pair of KRK V8's and havent regreted a single penny spent. I find that they provide an accurate representation of the entire spectrum without a subwoofer while smaller pairs would often need that ########## in attaining that real sense of clean, strong bass.
Of course it is all to taste however. But one seems to forget all flavor when listening to these babies hehehe.
