Studio monitor question

Is it possible to connect passive studio monitors to a standard amplifier (Pioneer)? I have an extra amp from my old sterio setup and it would be great to utilize it and save some $. I was thinking about the Truth B2030P's for about $130/pair.

Feb 08, 2006 07:14 pm I did, and they also have the kick-butt feature of having 2 sets of speaker outputs, like 'A' and 'B', or both. also, another headphone output, if you need one.
Feb 09, 2006 11:11 pm Just remember a home stereo type amplifier will have a differant colour to the sound then a straight away referance amp will. It can be used for sure, but make sure you set your tone control's to as flat as possible or the sound you hear when monitering might be a little missleading.
But it is indeed a cheap and usable alternative untill you can afford a referance amp.
