are drum triggers solely hardware or are their plugins when pc recording

Feb 08, 2006 09:45 pm There are trigger pads which make up a complete drum kit and feed the hits velocity to the brain which in turn either makes its ow sound or sends the midi note/velocity info off to software or another piece of hardware.
There are also triggers which fit onto an existing drum kit and do the same as above.
Then there is as zek described in software such as Sonar the ability to set up via the sensativity to pick out the peask of say a kick drum and convert it to midi notes/velocity information.
